XMLmind XML Editor (XXE for short) can be extensively customized and/or extended either by writing XML configuration files or by programming against its Java™ API.

There is no developer's kit per se, just documentation and code samples which can be freely downloaded from here.

No need to purchase Professional Edition to start customizing/extending XXE. Simply download Personal Edition from this page and start experimenting right away.

Unpack this archive in XXE installation directory (the directory which contains addon/, bin/, etc).
