All XMLmind products will maintained and possibly enhanced normally until April 3, 2027. After this date, they'll all be discontinued. A few months later, XMLmind Software will definitely close.
Please
find below the answers to some of the questions you may have. If you have
other questions or need some clarifications, please do not hesitate to
contact us at
.
Why are you discontinuing your products and closing XMLmind Software?
The software engineers in charge with the development of our products will all be —hopefully happy— retirees by April 3, 2027.
Do I have to stop using the XMLmind product I have purchased after April 3, 2027?
No. All our licenses are perpetual. Feel free to use the XMLmind product you have purchased for as long as you wish.
My business really depends on some of your products. How can I keep using a product which is no longer maintained by its developer?
We are really sorry to cause these problems. Some of our products come with their full source code, namely:
xe-usr, XML Editor - User Licensexe-site, XML
Editor - Site Licensexe-corp, XML
Editor - Corporate Licensexe-dev, XML
Editor - Developer License.fc-srv, XSL-FO Converter for Java
Server License or fcn-srv, XSL-FO Converter for .NET
Server Licensefc-site, XSL-FO Converter for Java
Site License or fcn-site, XSL-FO Converter for .NET
Site Licensefc-dev, XSL-FO Converter for Java
Developer License or fcn-dev, XSL-FO Converter for .NET
Developer Licensewx-srv, Word To XML Server Licensewx-site, Word To
XML Site Licensewx-dev, Word To
XML Developer LicenseWe suggest to purchase one of the above licenses (unless you already own it, of course) in order to obtain the full, most recent, source code of the product.
This source code is written in Java™, one of the most commonly used programming language. It is clearly written, sensibly commented, well documented and well tested. We exclusively use English to write our code (comments, variable names, etc). It should not be difficult for an in-house or a hired independent programmer to maintain this code.
Do you intend to open source your discontinued products?
No.
I would like to acquire the intellectual property rights of one of your products in order to develop it and market it under my own brand. Who should I contact?
