    <para>An inline image is represented by an <sgmltag
    class="element">inlinemediaboject</sgmltag>/<sgmltag
    class="element">imageobject</sgmltag>/<sgmltag
    class="element">imagedata</sgmltag> element <inlinemediaobject>
        <imageobject>

    <para>The image files referenced by <sgmltag
    class="element">imagedata</sgmltag>, <sgmltag
    class="element">inlinegraphic</sgmltag> and <sgmltag
    class="element">graphic</sgmltag> are specified using the
    <guilabel>Attribute</guilabel> tool by setting the <sgmltag
    class="attribute">fileref</sgmltag><footnote>
        <para>Specifying images using the <sgmltag
        class="attribute">entityref</sgmltag> attribute of these elements is
        <emphasis>absolutely not supported</emphasis> by XMLmind XML Editor,
        as well as all the notation and non-parsed entity machinery inherited
        from SGML.</para>

    convenient</para>

    <title>Resizing an image</title>

    <para>By default, images are displayed at their normal
    (<firstterm>intrinsic</firstterm>) size. The easiest way to resize an
    image is to specify the <sgmltag class="attribute">scale</sgmltag>
    attribute of the <sgmltag class="element">imagedata</sgmltag> element. The
    value of this attribute is a percentage of the normal size of the
    image.</para>

    <para>This is what we have done for the two fishes which are displayed
    inline above. Click on each of them and you'll see that we have specified
    <sgmltag class="attribute">scale</sgmltag>=<sgmltag
    class="attvalue">25%</sgmltag> for the first one and <sgmltag
    class="attribute">scale</sgmltag>=<sgmltag class="attvalue">33</sgmltag>
    (<literal>%</literal> is implied) for the second one.</para>

    <para>It is also possible to directly specify the size of an image by
    setting the <sgmltag class="attribute">contentwidth</sgmltag> and <sgmltag
    class="attribute">contentdepth</sgmltag> of the <sgmltag
    class="element">imagedata</sgmltag> element. Supported units are:
    <literal>pt</literal> (points &mdash; 1/72 of an inch) ,
    <literal>cm</literal> (centimeters), <literal>mm</literal> (millimeters),
    in (inches), <literal>pc</literal> (picas &mdash; 1/6 of an inch),
    <literal>px</literal> (pixels), <literal>em</literal> (the unit here is
    the base font size, something close to 12pt). No unit means
    <literal>px</literal> (pixels). '<literal>%</literal>' is also supported

    <para>The most useful use of a viewport is to scale an image to fit the
    size of the viewport. This is done by removing the <sgmltag
    class="attribute">scale</sgmltag>, <sgmltag
    class="attribute">contentwidth</sgmltag>, <sgmltag
    class="attribute">contentdepth</sgmltag> attributes if any, and setting
    the <sgmltag class="attribute">scalefit</sgmltag> attribute of the

      formats? Aren't you tired of converting your images to GIF, JPEG or PNG
      in order to be able to use them in your documents?</para>

      GIF, JPEG or PNG, you can specify an image toolkit plug-in making use of
      such command line tool in just 5 minutes, without having to program.
      These declarative image toolkit plug-ins <emphasis>are specified in
