What to Download?

All distributions include:

• XMLmind XML Editor with a user interface in English, an English spell checker dictionary and configurations for the XHTML and DocBook (V4 and V5) document types.

  Please use XXE integrated add-on manager (that is, Options|Install Add-ons) to download and install translations to languages other than English and/or spell checker dictionaries other than the English one and/or configurations for document types (DITA, Simplified DocBook, Slides, etc) other than XHTML and DocBook.

• All the documentation, except the documentation for developers (which must be downloaded separately from this page).

Note that add-ons and documentation for developers are identical for Personal Edition and for Professional Edition.

If you are a Windows user

Download xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup.exe.

If you have a single Java^TM 1.5+ runtime already installed on your machine, you may want to download xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup-nojvm.exe instead of xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup.exe. Note that your Java^TM runtime must be a publicly installed one. If you have installed a JDK and chosen not to install the bundled Java^TM runtime publicly (the JDK still works due to its private Java runtime), then installing xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup-nojvm.exe is not an option.

If you have a multiple Java^TM runtimes already installed on your machine, please download xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup.exe. Trying to use xxe-perso-4_0_0-setup-nojvm.exe may fail because the installer sometimes picks the wrong Java^TM runtime.

If you are a Mac user

Download xxe-perso-4_0_0.dmg. Requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) with latest Apple Java^TM 1.5 runtime.

If, and only if, you are a local guru or a consultant, you may prefer to download xxe-perso-4_0_0-mac.zip. After unzipping this archive in a directory of your choice, XMLmind XML Editor may be started using the XXE_install_dir/bin/xxe shell script. Unlike the XMLEditor.app application bundle contained in the .dmg distribution, the xxe shell script makes it easy working with environment variables such as XXE_GUI, XXE_ADDON_PATH, etc. More information in Command line options.

If you are a Linux user

On Linux 2.4+ and on other Java^TM 1.5+ platforms, download xxe-perso-4_0_0.zip or xxe-perso-4_0_0.tar.gz.
