What to Download?

All distributions include:

• XMLmind XML Editor with a user interface in English, an English spell checker dictionary, configurations for the XHTML, DITA, DocBook document types and a substantial number of add-ons (SVG support, MathML support, WebDAV support, conversion to PDF, RTF, .docx, etc).

  You may want a user interface in a language other than English, more spell checker dictionaries or even an alternative spell checker engine (for hard to spell languages such as Hungarian, German, Turkish, etc). If this is the case, please download the corresponding add-ons using menu item Options|Install Add-ons.

• All the documentation, except the documentation for developers (which must be downloaded separately from this page).

Note that the add-ons and documentation for developers are identical for Evaluation Edition and for Professional Edition.

Making XMLmind XML Editor more lightweight

Using

• "Options|Install Add-ons" to uninstall the add-ons you don't need,
• Options|Preferences, General|Features to deselect the features you don't need,

is strongly recommended as this simplifies the user interface and slightly improves XXE startup time.

If you are a Windows user

Download xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup.exe.

If you have a single Java^TM 1.6+ runtime already installed on your machine, you may want to download xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup-nojvm.exe instead of xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup.exe. Note that your Java^TM runtime must be a publicly installed one. If you have installed a JDK and chosen not to install the bundled Java^TM runtime publicly (the JDK still works due to its private Java runtime), then installing xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup-nojvm.exe is not an option.

If you have a multiple Java^TM runtimes already installed on your machine, please download xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup.exe. Trying to use xxe-eval-5_6_0-setup-nojvm.exe may fail because the installer sometimes picks the wrong Java^TM runtime.

If you are a Mac user

Download xxe-eval-5_6_0.dmg. Requires 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion) with latest Apple Java^TM 1.6 runtime.

If you are a Linux user

On Linux 2.6+ and on other Java^TM 1.6+ platforms, download xxe-eval-5_6_0.zip or xxe-eval-5_6_0.tar.gz.

Note that the xxe-eval-5_6_0.zip or xxe-eval-5_6_0.tar.gz distributions also work fine on Windows and on the Mac.
