What to Download?

All distributions include:

  • XMLmind XML Editor with a user interface in English, an English spell checker dictionary and configurations for the XHTML, DITA, DocBook document types.

    Please remember that XMLmind XML Editor is an XML editor “ŕ la carte” External link, which is just as powerful as you need it to be. Out of the box, you get an application which is as small and simple as possible. If you are missing a feature, then this feature is probably one mouse click away from you. Depending on the feature, select it in the Options|Preferences, General|Features preferences panel or download it and install it using menu item Options|Install Add-ons.

  • All the documentation, except the documentation for developers (which must be downloaded separately from this page).

Note that the add-ons and documentation for developers are identical for Personal Edition and for Professional Edition.

If you are a Windows user

Download xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup.exe.

If you have a single JavaTM 1.6+ runtime already installed on your machine, you may want to download xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup-nojvm.exe instead of xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup.exe. Note that your JavaTM runtime must be a publicly installed one. If you have installed a JDK and chosen not to install the bundled JavaTM runtime publicly (the JDK still works due to its private Java runtime), then installing xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup-nojvm.exe is not an option.

If you have a multiple JavaTM runtimes already installed on your machine, please download xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup.exe. Trying to use xxe-perso-5_1_1-setup-nojvm.exe may fail because the installer sometimes picks the wrong JavaTM runtime.

If you are a Mac user

Download xxe-perso-5_1_1.dmg. Requires 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or 10.7 (Lion) with latest Apple JavaTM 1.6 runtime.

If you are a Linux user

On Linux 2.6+ and on other JavaTM 1.6+ platforms, download xxe-perso-5_1_1.zip or xxe-perso-5_1_1.tar.gz.

Note that the xxe-perso-5_1_1.zip or xxe-perso-5_1_1.tar.gz distributions also work fine on Windows and on the Mac.
