| Qizx/openQizx/open is the first version of Qizx and has been available as an Open Source product since 2003. QIzx/open fully implements the XML Query language, but it is fairly different than Qizx/db in terms of data access: basically it has no persistent storage and no indexing capabilities, so it must first parse XML documents into memory before any processing. Qizx/open should not be regarded as a database engine, but as an XML Query interpreter. See the product comparison table. Yet once documents are loaded, Qizx/open can sometimes run faster than some XQuery databases, as shown in this benchmark. Qizx/open is licensed under the Mozilla Public License. Qizx/open will be maintained in parallel with QIzx/db.
