Evaluate Qizx

Qizx comes with two tools which make it easy to build a database, populate it with XML documents, and perform XQuery queries on this database, without programming:

  • Qizx Studio is a graphic interface featuring a browser for the contents of an XML database, plus a simple XQuery workbench for executing XQuery scripts and viewing the results. It is powerful enough to be used as an administrator tool.

  • A command-line tool can also be used to create and maintain XML Libraries, or simply execute XML Query script files.

Qizx Free Engine

Qizx Free Engine is a full-featured version of Qizx with a size limit of approximately 1000 Megabytes of source XML. You can download Qizx Free Engine from this page.

Evaluation version without size limitation

If you want to evaluate Qizx Engine without restrictions, please proceed as follows:

  1. First download Qizx Free Engine and install it.

This is needed because you'll have to install an evaluation key in Qizx Free Engine in order to temporarily remove its limitations in terms of size of the database.

  2. Use this form to get your evaluation key Open in a new window.
If you have problem reaching this form, this probably means that you have a firewall or proxy which is blocking HTTP through port 8080 (the standard HTTP port is 80). In such case, please temporarily change the settings of your firewall or proxy to allow outgoing HTTP connections through port 8080.
  3. Copy the key received (which is a .jar file) into the lib/ directory of the Qizx installation.
  4. This should be sufficient to remove the size limit of 1 gigabyte during the evaluation period (21 days). After expiration of the evaluation key your copy of Qizx keeps working like the Free Engine edition.
