Forthcoming developments include XQuery Update, a server edition, a new connectivity to SQL relational databases, and even further optimizations.

Qizx/db Free Engine is a free edition of Qizx/db with a limited database size of one gigabyte.

Qizx/open, the open-source version of Qizx, is also available here and will be maintained by XMLmind.

Qizx/db, a fast and lightweight XML database engine natively supporting XQuery

Qizx/db is an embeddable, high-speed, native XML database engine written in Java™, with the querying and processing capabilities of a fully fledged XQuery (W3C XML Query) implementation.
